This Month's Feature
District Edition 2009.2

Infinite Campus announces a new release, District Edition 2009.2, which the BIE is currently testing with hopes of moving to this version in the near future. Highlights of the release include:

Messenger with Voice, Powered by ShoutPoint
Campus Messenger with Voice, Powered by ShoutPoint, will provide critically timed dialing and emergency phone calls on demand. Instead of relying on a third party for these services, your district can leverage the integration of Infinite Campus for this capability through a new partnership with ShoutPoint. Districts no longer will have to invest in costly hardware or long distance charges. ShoutPoint provides multiple domestic call routing centers and large volume capabilities via a voice over internet protocol service. This service can also be leveraged for day-to-day voice communication needs such as attendance dialing, behavior incidents and other district-specific notices. Campus Messenger with Voice 2009.2 is currently in pilot testing and is scheduled for general availability March 2009.

Learner Planning (Plans, Evaluations, etc.)
Logic has been modified on the Plan and Evaluation Type tools to show the applicable editors available based on the selected print type. Users will be able to define a new plan or evaluation by first selecting the print type and then selecting the appropriate editors. This ensures that only valid editors for a particular print type are included in a plan or evaluation. Plans and evaluations currently existing will not be affected by this enhancement.

Active Directory
The current Infinite Campus integration with Active Directory (AD) will be enhanced to support authentication across multiple domains and organizational units. Users will be able to place their Campus bind user anywhere within the AD structure. Infinite Campus will prevent the authentication of users whose accounts have been disabled within AD. Campus-to-AD integration will be configurable for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) communications. Users will be able to designate which AD attribute is to be used as the Campus username. When a district switches over to AD authentication, a self-service tool will allow each end user to link their existing Campus user account to their AD account.

Attendance: Closing School Months
This feature will help districts needing the ability to lock attendance in states that have a predefined timeframe for state reporting. This will also enhance data integrity. The timeframe for the lock is determined by the district and is managed through a new school month’s tab within the calendar section of system administration.

Health
Medication Management, Health Office Scheduling, Health Office Calendar and Health Office Visits complete Campus Health. They are designed to ensure more consistent documentation of student health visits and decrease the amount of time spent completing documentation.  Medications will be managed and appointments can be scheduled to ensure proper administration and documentation. Documentation of all health office visits is streamlined and can employ principles similar to the Nursing Interventions Classifications (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classifications (NOC) pathways. These new tools may be used in parallel with current health tools as your district transitions to them.

Food Service
The verification process has been revised so it is an integral component of the Household Application and FRAM wizards. The Household Application wizard has also been modified to let a user update an application through the editor rather than processing an entire new application. A new report for household applications has been added providing the option to select on effective and expiration dates, application reasons, and the ability to include details like application name and reference numbers. The Eligibility Import and Update Editors are now a part of the core Campus Food Service product.
