This Month's Feature-
Bureau Certified Trainers as a Resource

This is the third school year that schools have been on NASIS. In that time, all schools have made great progress in using NASIS for more than reporting data to the BIE. Many schools are grading, generating report cards and transcripts, sending out attendance letters and notices, and generally using many of the other modules in NASIS to help manage their student information.

In addition to regular NASIS training and support, there is another resource available to help your school and team implement more areas of NASIS. The BIE has a team of Bureau Certified Trainers or BCTs. Bureau Certified Trainers are users that work in BIE schools and have answered the challenge of completing the rigorous training required to become a BCT. They are located regionally and are available to come to your school for on-site training.

Many BCTs have already participated in on-site training to help schools with a variety of issues. Additional help was offered to input ISEP data, attendance, and assist with calendar administration. In each training session, they have proven to be very helpful. To request a BCT to come to your school, contact Denise Salyers in Albuquerque. You can reach her at dsalyers@bia.edu.
