Helping You Help Yourself

Create the Perfect Support Ticket
NASIS Support is here to help. The single most effective way to receive support is to log into the Customer Support Portal and create a case. Of course, you’re always welcome to call and a case can be opened as you make contact with a NASIS Team Member. The preferred method however, is to create a support ticket via the portal before you call.

Why Create a Case?
Creating a case on the support portal initiates the support process. It lets you describe exactly what your issue is to allow for immediate action from our team. By supplying the critical information in your support ticket, we can begin the research process and recruit the requisite expertise and information to effectively and completely answer your question.

New to NASIS

The Consecutive Absences report will produce a list of students with “x” number of consecutive absences. The report can be printed for all grades or a single grade. Other options include printing by a date range and listing by active year, school or year. The report can be found by navigating to Attendance>Reports>Consecutive Absences.

NASIS Speak

nasis speakDefining the Lingo
NASIS: Native American Student Information System. The student database application provided to schools by the Bureau of Indian Education. Used extensively for tracking and reporting student data.

Online training (WebEx): A meeting system that uses the internet, your computer (for the video and documents), and a phone (to hear the instructor) to conduct remote training sessions on using the NASIS application.

Replication Steps: The most important steps in the case submission process. Replication steps are the step-by-step, click-by-click steps necessary to reproduce your issue. The more clear and concise the replication steps, the faster the issue will be resolved.

Student Locator: The process by which a student is assigned a NASIS ID. The NASIS ID is necessary for successful synchronization between a school’s District Edition of NASIS and the BIE’s State Edition of NASIS.
