Defining the Lingo
NASIS: Native American Student Information System. The student database application provided to schools by the Bureau of Indian Education. Used extensively for tracking and reporting student data.
Online training (WebEx): A meeting system that uses the internet, your computer (for the video and documents), and a phone (to hear the instructor) to conduct remote training sessions on using the NASIS application.
Replication Steps: The most important steps in the case submission process. Replication steps are the step-by-step, click-by-click steps necessary to reproduce your issue. The more clear and concise the replication steps, the faster the issue will be resolved.
Student Locator: The process by which a student is assigned a NASIS ID. The NASIS ID is necessary for successful synchronization between a school’s District Edition of NASIS and the BIE’s State Edition of NASIS. |
